– Hermaphroditism – Sex From Male To Female – Scientists from all over the world have discovered that the sex of vertebrates changes. Males of thousands of species, from polar bears to eagles, from amphibians to alligators, from rodents to large predators, have been assuming female traits for several years, through a reduction in the size of their reproductive organs, a tendency to hermaphroditism and the presence of hormones that do not belong to their gender, is shown in the world’s most serious report on the collapse of virility, published on Monday. According to the report, which brings together more than 250 scientific studies led by the best universities in the world, the blame for this phenomenon rests with the 100,000 chemical agents that humanity has poured into the earth, water and atmosphere, having only a vague idea of the damages generated, reports “La Stampa”, consulted by Agerpres.

Hundreds of substances contribute to altering the endocrine functions of living beings, spread everywhere, so that it is very difficult, if not impossible, not to come into contact with them. For example, “Endocrine Disrupters” (ED), chemical products that alter endocrine or hormonal functions, are so widespread that it is now impossible not to come into contact with them in a normal day of activity. Other substances, such as dioxin, DDT or polychlorobiphenyls (PCBs) are no longer used, but are still present in the environment. Pesticides and antiparasitics are widely used in agriculture, and other substances that destroy hormonal functions are found in detergents, adhesives, plastic, dentist’s amalgams, deodorants, cosmetics, talc, glue, in substances that delay ignition, present in electrical equipment and airplane seats, as well as in food preservatives. The female hormones contained in contraceptive pills are also responsible for altering the endocrine functions of living beings, which pass unaltered through the purification treatment of discharge waters and reach the rivers. The study reaches a dramatic conclusion: “The main species of vertebrates came into contact with the substances chemicals that are in the environment. The feminization of the males of these species is already a widespread phenomenon on Earth”. Dr. Pete Myers, the world’s greatest authority in the field, is convinced that the fastest evolution recorded on our planet is underway. “There are 100,000 chemicals that interact with a hormonal system that has been delicately balanced over millions of years. It is not surprising if the consequences are so serious”. The researchers were struck by the similarity of the phenomena in such different species and in habitats so far from each other. Florida alligators have smaller sex organs and their fertility is reduced. Polar bears develop hermaphrodite characters and have both a penis and a vagina. Deer in Montana and Alaska have deformed testicles. Turtles in the Great Lakes area have developed female traits. Fish are the most affected, because they live in water and absorb chemicals through their skin. Half of the males that swim in British rivers develop eggs in their sexual apparatus, like the females. Among the thousands of affected species, however, the human is also counted. According to researchers, mothers who have the highest level of the chemical compound called “phthalate” give birth to boys with a smaller penis and testicles that do not descend and with a smaller distance between the anus and the sexual organ, as in girls. Also, mothers exposed to PCBs have boys more likely to play with dolls. In the locations most polluted by chemical components of the ED type, in Canada, Russia and Italy, twice as many girls as boys are born and, in general, the amount of sperm per cubic millimeter in men has decreased by two thirds in the last 50 for years, warn the authors of the report.
