Can you get rich with an invention?

Many success stories end with the phrase “He obtained a patent for his invention and became a millionaire”, thus ceasing the idea that having a patent is equivalent to an instant fortune. But this idea is false. Statistics show that only 1 in 100 patents end up being materialized as a product and that only 1 in 500 actually brings in money. True, this potential gain is sometimes fabulous, but only if the product manages to reach store shelves. And up to the store shelves is a damn long and difficult road.

That is why, unless the inventor himself has the resources and experience to run the business, the rights to the invention must be sold to an investor. It comes with mass production machines, with material suppliers, with distribution channels – that is, things at least as important as the invention itself. The famous case of Robert Kerns, who developed the intermittent windshield wiper: Kerns was offered $ 30 million for his invention, but he turned down the offer and insisted that automakers each part, to buy directly from him the right to use his invention. The outcome? A few years of struggling with the producers, long processes and, finally, obtaining a sum of only 15 million,

No inventor wants the investor to get rich on his back, but we must never forget that having a patent means nothing – you frame it, hang it on the wall and look at it. Selling the exploitation rights of that patent is called taking advantage of it. More or less, but take advantage.

AII – Recommendation:

There is also the possibility to register your invention as an inventor internationally and to negotiate its sales contract, a solution that we recommend in Romania because it is difficult to find a serious investor who will not bother you. And don’t forget that a good CONSULTANT saves you high costs and especially not to lose your invention.

BRIEF ACTIVITY REPORT!

In September 2015, Alireza Rastegar, President of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), based in Geneva, publicly launched a Letter to States and Governments, quoting:

”(…) Governments also play an important role in maintaining an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit.

As revealed at the IFIA World Congress, much of government funding goes to academic inventors, while independent inventors have a high percentage of inventions developed and supported only by themselves.

We expect the people as well as the government to be responsible for the technologies that are accelerating the pace of life for all of us.

IFIA proposes that the United Nations establish a special day as ” Inventor’s Day” to commemorate inventors who have made important contributions to humanity throughout history. ”

Letter to US President and UN Secretary-General:

On September 1, 2016, the letter was signed to the President of the United States, the UN Secretary General, the US Trade Representative, the Department of Commerce, the Senate Judiciary Committee, the House Judiciary Committee, the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, the UN High-Level Panel on Access to Medicines. Organization of Economic Co-ordination and Development, World Health Organization, World Intellectual Property Organization requesting the following:

As we enter a period of global uncertainty, whether it deals with threats to public health, such as Zika, political and economic changes, such as Brexit, or larger trade agreements, such as the Partnership Trans-Pacific (TPP) or Trans-Atlantic Investment and Investment Partnership (TTIP) aims to shape the principles of policies that will strengthen innovation, invention and new solutions for people around the world.

We, the undersigned, support policies that promote new, useful, and unique products for people around the world. Political decision-makers should take these principles into account when debating local public policy or international agreements.

market-based policies that reward the value of invention and innovation for individuals and society;
Intellectual property rights, as well as enforcement, are easily accessible to inventors;
To support these principles, every government should promote, support, and defend a patent and intellectual property regime that embodies these principles.

We therefore encourage current and future policymakers to use these principles in policy-making in local governments or by international organizations.

The specific activity of the invention supposes a creative effort that requires the inventors who, besides auxiliary logistic activities (market research, writing, registration of Patent Applications, etc.) also need to have access to financial resources for the materialization of inventions / prototypes through partnerships with private investors or companies from the entire range of different fields of activity.

The Association of Independent Inventors (AII) represents Romania as a full member of the International Federation of Inventors Association – IFIA – Geneva and has signed a STRATEGIC partnership with the Worldwide Independent Inventors Association – WIIA in Washington DC, USA.

We mention that 72 member countries represented by a single association as a full member are affiliated to IFIA, Romania being represented by the Association of Independent Inventors – (AII), starting with 2015. (Annex 1 sheets 1, 2)

It is unanimously known and recognized internationally that almost all great technologies and inventions have been and are made by independent inventors who, through technologies developed and materialized by high-performance prototypes, have brought great benefits to the budgets of the countries in which they operated, both benefits financial tens of billions of dollars as well as by creating jobs and developing the economy of highly developed countries such as the USA, Germany, France, Switzerland, etc.

Short history:

Together with a group of independent inventors, in 2007 we started the activity in the field of innovation and applied research and the realization of functional prototypes.

Subsequently, I registered and obtained the National Trademark logo and the banner “INVENTATORI.RO” at the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks (OSIM) starting with 10.11.2009; (Annex 2 sheets 1, 2, 3)

The Association of Independent Inventors (AII) was registered as a legal person of private law for non-patrimonial purposes organized in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance no. 26 of 30/01/2000 (modified and completed) on 05.12.2012.

We started the construction, editing and promotion of the following innovative media platforms that are made from private funds of inventors, to help inventors and those who have ideas, inventions and patents to be bought by those interested and turned into business:

– www.worldwideinvention.com internationally in English, with a Page Rank 3;

These media platforms in Romanian and English that promote private innovation activity in Romania at national and international level require development, maintenance and editing costs, amounting to approximately 2000 euros per year.

At the moment, the media platforms on the innovative field mentioned above are on the first pages and places to search on the main search engines, Google and Yahoo with keywords, inventors, inventions, patents, patents, invention writing consultancy, inventors associates, etc.

We started our activity as a group of independent inventors collaborating in the realization of some first projects that materialized by registering some inventions at OSIM and making functional prototypes.

Inventions registered at OSIM:

Anti Diabetes Stimulator – ADS, Acupuncture Point Specification Frequency Generator, Interactive Inductive Electric Generator, Double Switched Polyphasic Electric Generator, Piezoelectric Generator, Anti-Stress Clock, Transylvania Natural Energy, Amplified Sonic Fuel Gasifier Anti-Stress Electromagnetic Field, Cigarette Aeration Device, Hydrodynamic Transmission System, Acupuncture Point Electropuncture, Turbo Blower Equipment, Salt Ion Management Device, Gold Sole Shoe, Ecological Mobile Barbecue, etc.

With these first achievements I participated in national and international exhibitions, where I obtained the appreciations of the juries materialized by Diplomas of Excellence and numerous Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals, attached in copy to the file.

The prototypes participated between March 27 and 30, 2012 in the 10th JUBILEE edition of the International Exhibition of Research, Innovation and Invention “PRO INVENT” which took place at the Complex “Expo – Transylvania” in Cluj – Napoca, Romania, where received the Diploma of Excellence and the GOLD Medal for “group of inventions”.

The Association of Independent Inventors – AII – received the invitation to participate with the portfolio of Inventions and prototypes at the Romanian stand in 2013 at the FINEX 2013 Salon, organized under the auspices of IFIA (International Federation of Inventors Association) – Geneva.

The AII Association honored the invitation and informed the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and His Excellency Cristian Teodorescu, the Romanian Ambassador to Tehran attended the official opening of the stand representing Romania and the official dinner with the AII Association delegation, led by President IORDAN STAVAR.

The Association of Independent Inventors – AII – is Romania’s representative at the International Federation of Inventors Association – IFIA based in Geneva Switzerland, and has signed a partnership of collaboration and bilateral technical-scientific support on promoting Romanian inventors and inventions on international invention markets with Worldwide Independent Inventors Association – WIIA – Washington DC, USA.

This STRATEGIC collaboration and development agreement concluded between AII in Romania and WIIA in the USA will facilitate and promote Romanian inventors and inventions in the USA, Europe, and ASIA markets. , UIA USA covering the entire territory of the USA and IFIA where 72 associations from 72 countries are affiliated, including Romania, represented by the Association of Independent Inventors in Romania.

In December 2016, Mr. IORDAN STAVAR, due to his international invention activity, was nominated by Mr. Deb Hess, Chief Operating Officer and Treasurer of The United Inventors Association of America – UIA, USA to serve on the Board of Directors of UIA – USA Washington DC., we attach an e-mail with the proposal. Annex 14, filel (e 1,2,3)

The experience and knowledge gained in the previous years of activity as well as the good relations and collaborations with new partners, top inventors, allowed us to approach two major PROJECTS of activity, Complementary Medicine and Energy:

1 – In the field of COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE:

The project “ANTI DIABETES STIMULATOR” (ADS) – was materialized by drafting and registering the Invention of the same title at OSIM and USPTO – USA and the realization of two functional prototypes in which participated elite inventors recognized internationally,

authors of specialized books in the medical field, as well as specialists in electronics and IT. (Annex 5 sheets 1, 2, 3)

At the same time, the “ANTI DIABETES STIMULATOR” User Manual was elaborated and finalized and the complete file (approximately 300 pages) was submitted to the OTDM-Ministry of Health (Annex 6 files 1,2,3,4).

At the end of the zero series prototypes made at SC ELPROF SA, they were sent for technical tests to ICPE – Testing Laboratory for electrical products certification, where 2 Test Reports were prepared, one of 16 pages and one with 6 pages.

The two prototypes “ANTI DIABETES STIMULATOR” (ADS) have passed all the tests successfully and have been classified in accordance with SR EN 60601-1-2: 2007 chap.6. (Annex 7, sheets 1, 2)

The technological invention of the Anti Diabetes Stimulator device was designed to help the over 1,200,000 patients registered in Romania at the Ministry of Health with this pathology, it being of public utility.

The ADS stimulation method is an adjunct in the classic treatment of diabetes, which helps the pancreas to produce more insulin without any other kind of additional treatment.

Properly treated ADS causes the pancreas to release more insulin, improves blood sugar and glycosylated hemoglobin, helps the patient reduce the dose of medication during treatment, and prevents diabetes from progressing to advanced forms of the disease.

In this Project, the Team of Inventors / members of the Association of Independent Inventors – AII was composed of 4 inventors medaled in gold, silver and bronze at the National and International Exhibitions, writers and specialists in medicine, electronics and software:

– Project manager :

1 – IORDAN STAVAR – INVENTOR – Anti Diabetes Stimulator – ADS;

The realization of the “zero” series of Anti Diabetes Stimulator (ADS), was materialized through the Partnership Agreement with SC. ELPROF SA. (Romanian company specialized in the production of medical equipment and devices and military equipment).

The zero series batch has been technically tested and Certified by SC. ELPROF SA and the two prototypes were independently tested by ICPE through the Testing Laboratory for Electrical Products Certification – ICPE – Research Institute for the Electrical Industry.

2 – In the field of ELECTRICITY

The project “ELECTRIC GENERATOR WITH SWITCHED RELUCTION” (GRLC) – was materialized by drafting and registering the Invention of the same title at OSIM and USPTO – USA and the realization of three functional prototypes of 1.5kW; 5kW and 1.8kW in which the following inventors of the IIA members participated: (Annex 8 sheets 1, 2, 3)

– Director of the Technical and Inventory Department – Eng. Tudor Florin;

The realization of the functional prototypes of GRLC was materialized through the Partnership Contract with SC. UMEB SA .. (Romanian company specialized in the production of ELECTRIC MOTORS and GENERATORS). (Annex 9 tabs 1 – 6)

The UMEB also participated in the realization of the technological execution projects:

– Elena Garbacea;

– Dr. Ing. Epurean Catalina;

– The technical team from the test platform of SCUMEB SA

The prototypes of the Switched Reluctance Electric Generators were functionally tested on the SC approved platform. UMEB SA. (Annex 10 sheets 1,2,3,4)

Following the tests performed, the following conclusions were drawn:

Due to its constructive characteristics, it achieves a superunit efficiency of the conversion of mechanical energy into electrical energy because it uses a neutral magnetic circuit switch between inductors (magnetic voltage generators) and induced, by switching the magnetic flux path.

statorically without their relative displacement relative to each other; presents the following advantages resulting from the analysis of the tests performed:

– Reduction of the starting torque (cogging) to values below 0.5 Nm which means that practically current can be generated at the weakest wind breeze (below 2 m / s);

b.- The generated electric power increases exponentially with the speed, the characteristic increasing the generated electric power / gauge ratio;

c.- the drive torque (resistant) to the shaft has a Gaussian evolution in relation to the increase of the electric charge and is lower for the same debited electric power, in comparison with the other synchronous generators with excitation by permanent magnets; In short and empty it has minimum values;

d.- the generator self-protects itself at overload and short due to the elastic current characteristic;

– charging the accumulator batteries from the autonomous REGENERABLE systems in any voltage configuration (up to 90% of U0) without additional limiting and adaptation devices;

– Wind turbines with vertical or horizontal axis or Hydroturbines – without the need to use speed reducers or multipliers;

– stationary or mobile generator sets in “digital inverter” technology;

3. The project “PROMOTING THE BIGGEST ROMANIAN INVENTORS”

The Association of Independent Inventors – AII initiated and started the PROJECT PROMOTING THE GREAT ROMANIAN INVENTORS about which it informed the Bucharest City Hall, the Timisoara City Hall, the General Secretariat of the Government, the Romanian Presidency. (Annex 11 – correspondence with the mentioned institutions, pages 1 – 28).

The project is in progress, is particularly appreciated for its importance and is in the attention of the above mentioned institutions.

This integrated private project has two components:

A.- HUMAN RESOURCES – implementation in educational institutions about the history of Romanian invention through a first pilot stage that takes place within a partnership between two non-governmental associations and the ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT INVENTORS – AII – BUCHAREST and KINDERLAND CLUJ NAPOCA.

(Annex 12, pages 1 – 5).

This project can be implemented in preschool and school units that will contribute to the training of children as future explorers and researchers in various fields of activity.

– INFRASTRUCTURE – in partnership with the local public administrations from the representative cities of the country, starting with Bucharest in order to place some statues with the great Romanian inventors who contributed to the well-being of humanity and are a pride for ROMANIA.

The Association of Independent Inventors – AII aims to:

– protection of inventors’ rights and intellectual property rights;

– to contribute to the increase of the qualitative level of the intellectual and cognitive potential of the citizens;

– making and editing books, periodicals, leaflets, posters, brochures;

– to contribute to the implementation, realization and coordination of different projects at local or national level in order to develop the social, economic and human potential of Romania.

– to collaborate with the specialized commissions from the parliament and government for the adoption of legislative measures necessary for the development of the field of innovation and invention in Romania.

– continuation of current activities, projects 1,2,3 presented above;

– registration of new technologies,

– making professional prototypes,

– their production and marketing on the national and international market, which leads to the creation of new jobs in all branches of activity, production, sales and marketing;

– monetization of the existing technology portfolio at national and international level in collaboration with our external partners.

-development of educational programs at national level to explain in more detail the start and development of innovative processes by implementing the latest strategies that are applied at international level

– participation in partnerships in the development of various innovative projects by creating new technologies.

– Continuation of Romania’s representation at international exhibitions and fairs in collaboration with IFIA (International Federation of Inventors’ Associations based in Geneva, Switzerland) and with the support of our partner Worldwide Independent Inventors / Association – WIIA – Washington DC-USA, in based on the invitations received and which we attach to this report. (Annex 13, pages 1 – 13).
