Benefits of Resveratrol: Maintains colon health, a powerful natural antioxidant that protects DNA, restores glutathione (our most important antioxidant), increases quinone reductase levels (the liver uses this enzyme for detoxification), maintains prostate health, acts as a phytoestrogen beneficial, lowers LDL cholesterol, heals skin wounds.

Resveratrol is a natural antioxidant that contains a number of health benefits, such as antiviral, neuroprotective, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory and life-prolonging effect.

Resveratrol is a protective compound produced by red grapes and other plants as a defense against parasites. While previously red wine contained 8 to 10 mg of resveratrol per liter, unfortunately there is almost no resveratrol in red wine today due to the widespread use of pesticides. However, we were able to find a pharmaceutical grade resveratrol source, extracted directly from red grapes, to maintain the natural balance of all its active compounds: polyphenols, flavonoids, anthocyanidins and oligo proanthocyanidins (OPC). It is then enriched with resveratrol extracted from the Polygonum cuspidatum plant.

What is Resveratrol?
Resveratrol belongs to a group of plants called polyphenols. Polyphenols are considered to be antioxidants, their main function being to prevent the formation of free radicals, thus protecting the body against cancer and heart disease.

It is a natural compound and is found in Chinese and Japanese knotweed (the plant with the highest resveratrol content), the skin of red grapes, blueberries, pistachios, cocoa beans and some berries (raspberries, dudes). The main function of resveratrol is to neutralize free radicals, which are responsible for the aging process due to their antioxidant properties.

Grapes produce resveratrol in their skin to protect the plant against infections and fungal diseases and to protect it from the sun, which is why wine contains a high level of resveratrol compared to other foods.

Red wine has a higher concentration of resveratrol than white wine. Grapes grown in more humid environments have also been shown to produce more resveratrol than those grown in arid environments. Resveratrol is also found in the seeds, tuscovina, leaves and stems of grapes.

In the USA it is obtained from a plant of Japanese or Chinese origin called troscot (Polygonum cuspidatum). In other countries it is extracted from red wine or red grapes.

Most studies on the benefits of resveratrol have been carried out in France because the French population has a high-fat diet, drinks a lot of coffee and smokes. The results showed that resveratrol significantly decreases heart disease even in these conditions, as well as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart attacks and stroke.

The longevity of the French is also due to the moderate amounts of red wine consumption.

Resveratrol is an antioxidant that detoxifies molecules that oxidize other molecules and tissues. The production of free radicals is very high during stress or inflammation, they oxidize DNA, cell membranes and other vital structures, such as mitochondria.

Resveratrol has many benefits, so there are many manufacturers and suppliers of this supplement.

Resveratrol supplements are available in stores in capsule, powder, or solution form.

Resveratrol Benefits Resveratrol Benefits
The most important other benefits of resveratrol are:

1. Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory

Resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant. It captures, defuses and removes oxidized molecules from the body, protecting it against free radicals. It protects molecules and cells from oxidation.

Maintaining a healthy level of antioxidants in the body prevents chronic inflammation, aging and cancer.

2. Anti-aging

Resveratrol is known to be very good against aging. Some studies have shown that resveratrol can increase the lifespan and help counteract the effects of an unhealthy lifestyle.

2. Heart disease

Numerous studies have been conducted on this supplement for 20-30 years and the answer to the French paradox has been found: even if they have a diet rich in bread, cheese, pork, butter, etc., the French will not be -reported a high rate of coronary heart disease. This is due to resveratrol, which is found in a significant amount in wine, especially red wine.

Resveratrol reduces inflammation, maintains normal blood cholesterol levels and lowers bad cholesterol (LDL), prevents the formation of clots, which could lead to a heart attack.

4. Prevents cancer and triggers apoptosis

Resveratrol stops and prevents the growth of cancer cells and triggers the process of destroying them.

5. Alzheimer’s disease

Resveratrol protects nerve cells from destruction and prevents the formation of bacterial plaque, which can lead to Alzheimer’s disease.

6. Diabetes

It is advisable to take resveratrol if you have diabetes, because then the insulin in the body is insufficient. Resveratrol prevents insulin resistance, and the body becomes stronger at the effects of the blood glucose lowering hormone.

7. Prevents atherosclerosis by:

– lowering the level of bad cholesterol in the blood (LDL);

– inhibits platelet aggregation (represents agglomeration and platelet binding);

– reduces the formation of clots;

– inhibition of certain cell adhesion molecules that contribute to the formation of atherosclerotic plaque;

– stimulation of eNOS activity (production of nitric oxide which is a powerful vasodilator);

– decrease in high blood pressure.

8. Helps to lose weight

Researchers also say that resveratrol is very effective for those who suffer from obesity, preventing its harmful effects, and protecting the body from diseases that occur during aging, by activating the SIRT1 gene.
